Your child loves nothing more than exercising with Mummy and Daddy. Why don’t you play tag around the dining table? Or go for a walk in the park or a game of football? Your child will love all the attention!

Looking for some other ways to exercise and have fun together?

  • Go to a playground or petting farm nearby. On you can look for playgrounds near your house.
  • Walk to the nearest letterbox to post a letter.
  • Cycle or walk to your toddler group or to a friend.
  • Head to the supermarket to do some grocery shopping.

Let your child walk by themselves as much as possible. That way, they will exercise more and discover the world along the way.

It’s also a good idea to ask your child to help you with chores around the house.

That allows you to move with your child and finish household chores at the same time. Clearly tell your child what they can help with. Sometimes their help won’t make much of a difference, but even so, let them go ahead. Your child will feel good about helping you.

Which chores can you do together?

  • Vacuuming or sweeping. Give your child a small broom and tell them to sweep.
  • Let your child dust your cabinets with a duster.
  • Hanging the washing. Put up a clothing line and let your child hang some doll clothes with colourful pegs.
