Tip 1: Don’t feel guilty

You’re a mum or a dad, but of course you’re also yourself. Sometimes it’s good to do something you like, so you feel better and you can take better care of your child. There’s no need to feel guilty about it.

Calling a babysitter so I can go for a drink with a friend? I never used to do that. I always wanted to be there for my children. They’ve been through so much these past few years. But at one point, I wasn’t doing well at all. That’s when I realised I sometimes need to make time for myself. Now I go for a walk with a friend every week. It’s my time to unwind and my children actually enjoy it when my sister babysits every now and then!
