Tip 6: Pay compliments

Show appreciation. Tell others what they’re doing well and pay them a compliment from time to time. It’s always nice to get a compliment, even for something small. It boosts your confidence. That, in turn, guarantees better cooperation. It also feels good to give someone a compliment.

Jaëlla, mother of Chelsey (3 years old):

Last week, my daughter came back from kindergarten very enthusiastically. The teacher had taught the children a new dance. My daughter was so enthusiastic about it that she just couldn’t stop dancing at home. It made me happy too. I complimented the teacher about it. She was new and I could tell she was happy about it.
