Don’t leave your tablet and smartphone in plain view during the day. Hide them in a drawer or cabinet, so your child doesn’t see them. Then they won’t ask for them all the time. Likewise, don’t leave the TV or radio on all day. The sound and images will overwhelm their senses and can disrupt your child’s development and language acquisition. These problems often only become clear once your child starts reading and writing.
