It’s important that you don’t set too many rules for your child. For a toddler, three rules are generally more than enough, so pick the ones your family needs.
Make a rule about:
- something that is repeated (almost) every day.
- something that is important to you.
Examples:
- You have to eat vegetables with your dinner.
- You need to drink water.
- You shouldn’t get out of bed once we’ve read our bed time story.
- You should hang your jacket on the coat stand.
