Tip 3: The bedroom

The actual bedroom can also promote a better night’s sleep for your child.

Your child will sleep better if their bedroom is:

  • dark, possibly with a small nightlight.
  • neither too hot nor too cold (approximately 16-18 degrees Celsius).
  • uncluttered. If your child sees toys everywhere, chances are they will want to play instead of sleep.

Tip:

Don’t use the bedroom as the place your child needs to go to when punished, because this might prevent the child from seeing it as a safe space.
